DENTAL IMPLANTS

HOW DOES DENTAL IMPLANTS WORK

Dental implants, titanium screws placed in your jawbone, are a modern solution for missing teeth. Consequently, this screw will essentially replace the root of your tooth.

Subsequently, a synthetic tooth will be placed over the screw, which will sturdily hold it in place. As a result, not only will you feel better about your smile, but you will also not be limited to what you can eat.

WHO IS ELIGIBLE

Not everyone is an eligible candidate for dental implants. Therefore, you will have a consultation and examination with Dr. Gebeau in order to determine if this is a suitable option for you.

If you have gum disease or are showing signs of bone loss, however, it is possible that the screw will not hold. Nevertheless, this does not eliminate your eligibility for dental implants. In such cases, Dr. Gebeau may suggest bone grafting before he can begin the implant process.

THE PROCESS

After Dr. Gebeau prepares the gum area, he will be able to insert the titanium screw or screws.
Subsequently, after the screws are implanted, they take a few months to completely heal. Following this healing period, next Dr. Gebeau will place the post and artificial tooth or teeth over the screw.

There are options for artificial teeth that depend on the number of teeth being replaced. Additionally, Dr. Gebeau’s goal is not only to make his patients feel confident with their smile but to provide them the opportunity of a fully functioning mouth.
